Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. In 2001, she launched The Corcoran Group in New York City. She sold the brokerage to NRT for $66 millions. In the following months she left the company. Corcoran was among the first Shark Tank investors. She has appeared on every season of ABC's Shark Tank. In February of 2020, Corcoran had made 53 deals, with the most significant being a $350,000 investment which was able to cover 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the youngest of 10 children in a middle class Irish-Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr., bounced between jobs throughout Corcoran's youth. Sometimes, her family depended on food delivery for free from a nearby grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father being an alcohol-dependent drunkard who often treated her mother with disrespect and disrespect, especially when he had been drinking. Corcoran struggled through her schooling and later discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran entered in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her time at an Catholic primary school. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a diploma in English, despite having failed several classes during her first year.
